    Welcoming Home Leafshine the Linnie

Been a while since I updated here, busy life is busy. Leafshine and Seasame Seed are still doing great. Sess has taken to chasing Leafshine a lot and biting her tail and pulling her rump feathers. So we have them separated for now and hope to get them to friends again after the holiday chaos...

    Welcoming Home Leafshine the Linnie

I don't know for sure when she was pulled unfortunately. But I know it was pretty early, as I was visiting her when she was getting her feathers to start popping out of the pins. I know she was then at least, and spent most of the time with her brother.

    Welcoming Home Leafshine the Linnie

Been incredibly busy since the holidays with work, and all free time has went to the birds as of late. So I haven't visited here as much as I should. But the girls are doing well, wonderful happy little beeps that really bring a lot of joy to my life. Leafshine bonked her beak into a window...

    Welcoming Home Leafshine the Linnie

These two are doing good together now. Today Seasame Seed and Leafshine were taking brief turns preening each other and sitting close. They both are also teaching each other a lot, and it really is heartwarming. I'm very glad to have two sweethearts now and very much looking forward to their...

    Welcoming Home Leafshine the Linnie

Leafshine is still very unsure of her, and Seasame Seed just wants to be best friends. It is very cute though. Seasame Seed seems to like my kid more than me, which is fine, as Leafshine is always a little freaked out by very happy, loud child, and will sit on her for about 15 seconds before done.

    Welcoming Home Leafshine the Linnie

She looks very dark grey in some photos and very dark blue in others. If I didn't know better, I'd think she was a different bird from one photo to the next.

    Welcoming Home Leafshine the Linnie

We welcomed home the very sweet Seasame Seed to our home yesterday. Leafshine does not quite know what to think of her. Thank you Eddie's Aviary for such a lovely and beautiful new member of our family.

    Baby Hemingway

Baby Linnie faces are just the best, and their noises. If you haven't heard hungry baby linnie noises yet, do yourself a favor and look it up. (Or maybe someone here has a share of it)

    Welcoming Home Leafshine the Linnie

It has been going wonderful, a great addition to the family. She gets along happily with myself, my husband and the friends we bring over. She is slightly apprehensive of the toddler, but not too much that she doesn't' want to take treats from kiddo or hop on her arm on occasion. That little...

    Welcoming Home Leafshine the Linnie

She is doing good, definitely getting a lot more used to me, my husband, and my daughter. We've taken her around in our hand now for a few short trips around the house. Really enjoying head scritches now and we are working on target training and showing her some little foraging toys we've made...

    Welcoming Home Leafshine the Linnie

She was hand raised at a local bird shop, and we got to visit her several times to spend time with her before she came home with us. And I am very grateful to that with her being our first bird. Right now she is in a cage next to my husbands work area in our living room, and where I work when he...

    Welcoming Home Leafshine the Linnie

A charming name for our new little hen, picked out by my 4year old; Leafshine the Linnie. She seems to be doing well, and we are looking forward to getting to know her. This is our first bird, so any tips on getting her most comfortable around us would be appreciated. -Melissa WC
