I love your GIF! How is it going? How old was he when you got him, how long have you had him? I ask as the nails look a little long in this picture, so I am guessing if this was when you first got him, he was older than the age a hand fed baby usually goes home?
If the nail is not totally dark, shining a light through it can make the quick easy to spot. If you can't see through it, clipping back to the start of the curve is usually a good place to start. I find the backs hook quickly, and are most likely to bleed. Be sure to use a product like THIS to stop the bleeding most easily. In a pinch you can use cornstarch or flour, but neither clots as quickly and doesn't provide antiseptic properties. Don't fear them hating you forever for it... they seem to forget all about it in a day or two. 
Don't seem to be hooking yet, so you could wait a bit.... that said... if you take them back now, less likely the quicks grow and you can keep them shorter on a longer timeline. Do you do them yourself?
If they clamp the foot, a gentle tap with your finger on the vent... they open them right up!
