Irises

So I’ve noticed that on one of my boys, he has a very well developed irises; but his brother does not. They are both nearly the same age and are old enough to have developed them.

So my question is, is it at all common for a Linnie to not really develop irises?

I can't open One Drive photos (you should be able to post in the message itself) but my first thought is age. Easier to see irises in budgies, but they develop only at sexual maturity, though there are a couple of mutations that do not get them. This is an interesting topic. Can you update us when a little older to see if they show up?

They are biological siblings from different clutches I think I recall? So that would make Kingston at least 3-4 months on average younger?

Sorry for the delay.
Just about 2 months actually between them, but the parents have since been on break for almost a full year.

Kingston is a year old as of...actually, tomorrow :) This is him.

Hemi is now 14 months old.

You can also see in the sunlight that Hemi has much more defined irises than his brother, and started getting them when he was about 7-8 months old.
