This amendment to the Lacey Act skipped the discussion/committee step and went right to the House for a vote, where it passed. It is set to be voted on by the Senate in the next week. Please call or write your Senator. This Link has information on the Bill as well as talking points if you need help with your call/letter. Many species (they have not yet specified which, but Quakers for sure) will be banned as "invasive species", and non-natives will not be able to be moved over state lines. This causes inbreeding, and makes finding pet birds EVEN harder as no airline shipping will be allowed. Have a read here:

Thank you for sharing this here. Saw it on various pet bird groups on Facebook last month or two as well. Best of luck to all of us!

Edit: Just wanted to mention, this amendment also affects zoos and other scientific institutions, not just pet birds and private breeders, so it is extremely important to put a stop to this.
